Chairs Board of Governors of Cardiff Metropolitan University since 2018.
Became a life-Peer in 2001, served on Select Committee on Assisted Dying for the Terminally Ill; now co-Chairs think-tank Living and Dying Well.
A Deputy Speaker and Deputy Chairman of Committees in the House of Lords.
