About the Event
Led by the Bevan Commission in partnership with the Institute of Welsh Affairs (IWA), the Welsh NHS Confederation, Social Care Wales and the Board of Community Health Councils in Wales.
This session will provoke a discussion around the key issue of supply and demand and how this impacts all care; primary, secondary and social. It will focus on the huge increase in waiting times, how we deal with the backlog in services and how do we choose which care is given, to whom and when.
It will also look at how we make health and care services more prudent and how we need to do things differently, engaging patients more in their own care, providing care closer to home and reducing the reliance of the hospital setting.
