Bevan Commission launches ‘Above and Beyond’ Campaign

The Bevan Commission is launching a new campaign today (January 21, 2021) to show support and gratitude for the efforts of people who are going ‘above and beyond’ during the Covid 19 pandemic.

The ‘Above and Beyond’ campaign will enable people to share personal messages to acknowledge the incredible effort and dedication of health and care professionals in caring for people across Wales. It will also show support and thanks to everyone else going the extra mile and making a big difference during these really difficult times including key frontline workers, communities and the public themselves.

Bevan Commission Director Helen Howson said, “What amazing people we have going ‘Above and Beyond’ their normal routine to ensure that our loved ones, family and friends are given the care and support they need to get through this crisis.

“Whilst we may not know or see all of them they are quietly going about their work and we would like to say a big thank you from the Bevan Commission.

“That’s why today we are launching the Above and Beyond campaign to show in a simple way that we are thinking of them and encourage others to join in by showing their appreciation too.”

The campaign will be run on the Commission’s social media channels (Twitter and LinkedIn) using the hashtag #AboveandBeyond. Organisations, communities and members of the public across Wales will be encouraged to join in.

Contributors from all walks of life will be encouraged to show their support and share a personal message about who, how and why someone (could be an individual staff member, team, organisation, member of the public) is going ‘above and beyond’. For example, this could be a patient thanking staff for looking after them, a ward manager thanking an individual team, a colleague highlighting another colleague or a nurse thanking the public for staying at home.
