The Medico-Legal Journal, read by medical legal professionals worldwide, has published a talk from Chair of the Bevan Commission, Professor Sir Mansel Aylward, on the Bevan Commission's critical role in designing a health and care system fit for the future.
Professor Sir Mansel Aylward addressed medical and legal professionals on the mission of the Bevan Commission to answer critical questions about the future of healthcare. His talk to the Medico-Legal Society, which was established in 1901, has now been made publicly available in the Medico-Legal Journal.
In the talk, Professor Sir Mansel Aylward discussed the origins of the NHS, and how it has developed beyond the original vision of its architect, Aneurin Bevan. Professor Sir Mansel Aylward discussed how the Bevan Commission views health and care as "equally important" and combines expertise from health, academia, local government, industry and more to examine the future of the NHS and make recommendations for its transformation.
